Nesting

So Rusty and I did our nesting a while ago. We think were pretty cool. It took two whole days to put it all in with a lot of frustration (we were thinking it would take a few hours). Was it worth it...of course! Its cleaner, brighter, and makes the place look more spacious. Love it! Here is a before kitchen floor.

Nasty! That thing never looked clean even after sweeping and moping.

Day one was the most frustrating because we were going no where fast...until...Jordan came to the rescue. He helped someone put one in before and gave us some good tips.

Long day.

It got tricky on day two when we had to get pieces to fit the weird corners and such. Rusty was a master with the saw.

Well the final product turned out fab. And Hanalei is gonna love it!

Science Fun!

Ok so I teach first grade and I was looking up lessons for when I am on maternity leave and came across this fun website. I of course was looking at things for first graders 5-7 years old. They have tons of way fun experiments for kids of all ages. Most of them are things that work better for a small group at home, not really for my class. So I thought I would pass it on to those of you who have little tikes eager to learn science in a fun way.

Make your own bubbles and wands

Build a pop Rocket

Lots of fun! Go to this sight and play around with other subjects and grade levels:

Hanalei's Shower

Good times had by all! As always my family pulled through with a fun filled party. We had great food:
*Sallie's chicken salad sandwiches
*Pretty cake...I never ate any but it looked fab!
*nuts and mints...shower food
*killer fruit basket...thanks daddy
*Crystal Light
We also had a fun Mad Lib game liz did and a memory game with candy involved. Everyone was cheating which meant everyone was trying real hard.

I got tons of cute clothes, blankets, and accesories for Hanalei and lots of gift cards. Perfect for stuffing in a suit case. Now I just have to take the time to figure out what I still want/need.

I would have to say the highlight of the party was getting a sneak peek into what a beautiful little girl Rusty and I are going to have. Lets just say...worst case senario. Yikes

Baby Hanalei and baby Graham

I quickly wanted to post because many have been asking for a belly shot. Well here are two belly shots. Kara came to visit while I was in Cali. So fun! She is just a couple of weeks behind me in her pregnancy. She is on #3. I got a lot of catching up to do.

Its crazy how my belly just shot out in the last few weeks. My kids were shocked by a few things. 1) my new hair cut 2) My huge belly. #2 is their favorite topic. One little girl probablly told me 5 times in a matter of a few hours how big my belly was. "Its big...really really big." Another girl said, "Your belly got so big Mrs. Rueckert. I think you have two babies inside of your tummy."

Thanks kids.
But really, I understand. They haven't seen me in about a month and it really did go from baby bump to baby mound. With this in mind I went to my dr. fearing that I had gained another ten lbs. Good news...shocking news...only 4 lbs. I told the dr. Whats in here...air? It really is a basketball. Now I don't have to diet...Bring on the ice cream!

FOr My MOM

My mom is a very visual person. SHe hates when I live somewhere she has never been or seen. Well its been a year since we have lived here. SO I guess I am a little slow at getting her some pics.

After seeing these pictures you are probably asking..."where are they going to put that baby?" Good question.

Random Stuff

So I have these pictures of Rusty with his "Pilgrim Beard". He is such a cutie. I actually kind of liked the facial hair for a while but it started to get a little too long and pokey. A couple days of growth is quite nice.

Another random thing is our neigbor's cat. Such a sassy thing but I love her. Her name is Scarecrow. I caught her in a dead sleep one day. She was out to the world. Our neighborhood has many cats so I get my fix of kittys and Rusty doesn't have to deal with cat hair on everything. Best of both worlds...for now.

Christmas Dinosaurs

Well, it was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and Rusty and I were trying to get into the spirit of Christmas. We made sugar cookie dough and frosting. We put it in the fridge over night (for best results).

Then Sunday night we rolled it out got out our bags of cookie cutters only to find that our Christmas cookie cutters were missing. All except for a snowman and a gingerbread girl. Bummer! I lent them out to someone last year and can't remember who. Anyways, Rusty decided to pick a few random cutters that could be toys...his brightest choice being the Christmas dinosaur.

What gets you into the spirit faster than a green and red dinosaur...nothing! They turned out really cute...and yummy. By the end of the night (9:15, past our bed time) I realized I never ate dinner, unless frosting and cookie dough counts.
Merry Christmas!
